UCI pro season Starts Tomorrow
Tomorrow the 2011 cycling season starts up with the Tour Down Under(TDU). This year is shaping up to be a big dog fight among some of the top sprinters in the world. With each team putting forth there main fast-men early in the season.
2011 looks like it's going to be a pretty exciting season to follow. With new teams and plenty of riders shifting around its hard to point out which group is going to be the team to beat.
Right now all focus is on the TDU. There are many possible winners for this year due to the depth of the pack. Right now calling a winner for the sprints is next to impossible with my knowledge. To many big names on the start list with big teams backing them up. Of course...... Mark Cavendish and his team HTC-High Road is a safe choice when your stumped at the bookies.
Some of the riders im going to watching this TDU are, Richie Porte, Alessandro Ballan, Allan Davis, Francesco Chicchi and Serguei Ivanov all have potential to launch some good attempts for stage wins. The sprints will be awesome to watch, but the memorable wins will probably come from a all or nothing attack with a large amount of kilometers ti'll the finish(stage 5)
Really excited to see what the new teams are going to race like. Garmin-Cervelo and Leapord-Trek have potential to be power plants all through the season, form the earliest race to the last im pretty keen on following these teams throughout the coming season.
Also this TDU is Lance Armstrongs last Pro race.
Some pre-race shots.
